The natural pools

The main attraction of the Maraú Peninsula is the natural pool in Taipú de Fora, which is the biggest one in Brazil. When the tide gets low the inside of the reef becomes like a huge aquarium, with sandy bottom and a lot of fish and marine life to see.

The pool is almost 1 km long, almost 500 meters wide and the deepest part is 4-6 meters deep. It is the perfect playground for snorkelling, diving, SUP and swimming.

Dreamland Bungalows is located between this pool and a smaller, less known one.

OBS: The best periods to enjoy the pools are the days around full moon and new moon, since the tide gets much lower than what it does in the half moon periods. Check the moon phases here, to plan your trip!
