They say it's difficult to get to the Maraú Peninsula, but increasingly difficult to leave. And it really makes sense...

Difficult access becomes your reward in the end and is, in fact, the main reason why this paradise is still so unspoilt, peaceful and unexplored.

Here are our recommendations on how to get here:

Coming from Ilhéus by transfer

The easiest option is to fly to Ilhéus and then an airport transfer directly to Dreamland.

Ilhéus (IOS) is the closest airport, located 120 km away from Dreamland.

We can arrange airport transfers for you. The driver will meet you on arrival and bring you to our doorstep.

The journey takes about 2-3 hours. We indicate the driver Jonga 73 99982-4320.

Coming from Ilhéus by car

If you're thinking of renting a car, please keep in mind that the last 44 km are on an unpaved dirt road, which in periods of heavy rain or lack of maintenance can get complicated.

We always recommend renting a tall car and preferably a 4x4.

Road Description:

Head north on BA 001 towards Itacaré. Shortly before arriving in Itacaré, turn left at the roundabout towards Camamu/Salvador via Ferry Boat.

After 15 km, there is an intersection where you must turn right and take the dirt road BR 030 towards Maraú.

Go straight for 39 km, always towards Barra Grande.

Dreamland is located at the second entrance to Taipu de Fora. When you see the first entrance (where there is a gas station), continue straight ahead for about 1.5 km before turning right.

Then, go straight ahead for about 2 km and you will find us in front of the beach, next to Pousada Recanto da Sereia, also known as "Jorge Leite".

Coming from Salvador

The option to fly through Salvador (SSA), which is a bigger airport, with more daily flights and sometimes cheaper tickets.

As close as it looks on the map to the Maraú Peninsula, it is an alternative much further away. The journey will likely take around 6-8 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions.

We can take care of this transfer for you if you prefer.

Coming from Salvador (economic option)

The most economical and adventurous way from Salvador is easier than it seems:

Take a ferry boat from Salvador to Bom Despacho (Itaparica Island). There are ferries that cross the bay every hour, but it's best to start your journey earlier.

From Bom Despacho you take a bus to Camamu (takes about 5 hours).

Upon arriving in Camamu, next to the bus stop, you will see a pier where the company "Camamu Adventury" is located. They make the speedboat crossing to Barra Grande every hour. This crossing takes around 40 minutes.

Upon arrival in Barra Grande, you can take a taxi to Dreamland, which takes about 15 minutes.

Just remember that you have to arrive in Camamu before 5pm! This is the last departure time of the boat.
